"Former adult video (AV) actress Seina Shiraki [also known by her stage name in AV as Sasamoto Yu], who currently works as a gravure idol, has revealed a shocking past involving domestic violence, illegal loan sharks and a massive debt. Shiraki, 24, claims to Gendai Business (May 13) the trauma caused her to black out and post a highly controversial tweet on X, which she now regrets. Early on the morning of April 28 when she tweeted: 'If I could have avoided doing AV, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it in the first place.' The post quickly amassed over 34 million views and drew fierce backlash, particularly from current adult actresses who accused her of 'playing the AV victim.' The controversy was further amplified after being picked up by prominent gossip influencer Gareso Takizawa. However, Shiraki now claims she has absolutely no memory of making the post, blaming a dissociative episode triggered by bipolar disorder and trauma from her harrowing past. 'I have a 3-year-old child,' Shiraki revealed to Gendai Business. 'After I gave birth to the child of the man I was supposed to marry, I suffered severe domestic violence from him, which led to me developing a dissociative disorder. The symptoms still appear, and sometimes my memory just drops out.' According to Shiraki, her fiancé suddenly fled, but not before using her name to secretly borrow 20 million yen from illegal, high-interest loan sharks (yamikin). Saddled with a mountain of illicit debt and a newborn child, Shiraki says she was backed into a corner. To survive, she debuted in the adult industry under the stage name Yuu Sasamoto. Armed with an 'I-cup' figure and striking looks, she managed to completely pay off the 20-million-yen debt in less than a year after appearing in just eight videos. Although she kept her horrific backstory hidden from the public during her time in the AV industry, the recent X controversy forced her to explain her true feelings. 'I am grateful to the AV industry because I was able to pay off a 20-million-yen debt in less than a year, and I don't regret it. I certainly wasn’t forced to perform by the industry,' Shiraki explained, apologizing to current actresses who felt insulted by her tweet. 'However, that 20 million yen was borrowed from multiple loan sharks by the man I was going to marry, who used my name without permission. I was burdened with a debt I had no memory of making, and I still have indescribable feelings about having to choose AV out of sheer necessity.' Shiraki admitted she actually quit the industry before fulfilling her initial contract because she lacked the 'physical and mental stamina' to continue. Showing up to the interview wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants, the 24-year-old appeared physically drained. She noted that the severe online backlash has taken a heavy toll on her already fragile health. 'I came to today’s interview practically crawling,' she said weakly. 'For three days, I haven’t been able to get food down my throat. I am so sorry for causing trouble for so many people. If I could take that tweet back, I really would.'"
